Globales_Lernen_klein

The long-term research “Global Learning for Sustainable Development” analyses the career pathways of international graduates from Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America over a period of twelve years. The DAAD-funded project is based on transnational and intersectional theoretical approaches. Using a mixed methods design which combines multi-sited ethnography, grounded theory and qualitative content analysis, supplemented by quantitative multivariate analysis in a longitudinal perspective, it focuses on biographical research and life course analysis.

The sample includes DAAD-alumni from the disciplines of economics and management, natural sciences and medicine as well as from engineering and social sciences.

The project will contribute to career research from a global and longitudinal perspective, taking into account the complexity of social inequalities (intersectionality). The longitudinal study includes seven research waves and it will be conducted from 2011 to 2024.

The project “Global Learning for Sustainable Development” is an interdisciplinary cooperation between TU Dortmund University and University of Applied Sciences Fulda. It is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
