The IRPUD documentation is responsible for:

• editing and publishing the department’s publication series, the Dortmunder Beiträge zur Raumplanung (Dortmund’s Publication Series for Spatial Planning),
• co-ordination of Arbeitspapiere (working papers) and Berichte aus dem Institut für Raumplanung (Reports from the Institute of Spatial Planning),

The Dortmunder Beiträge zur Raumplanung is divided into the following publication series:
Blaue Reihe (Blue Series): is the main series in which monographs, anthologies, dissertations and excellent diploma theses in the field of spatial planning are published.
Verkehr (Transport): is addressed to dissertations and research reports with the emphasis on transport issues.
Projekte (Projects): within this series final reports of student projects of the department of Spatial Planning are published.

The Arbeitspapiere (working papers) and Berichte aus dem Institut für Raumplanung (Reports from the Institute) sum up results of research projects, discussions on research projects in progress and documentations of excursions. Publications can be printed or published online in agreement with the documentation unit.
