The institute for spatial planning coordinates the publication of the Dortmunder Beiträge zur Raumplanung. The Dortmunder Beiträge zur Raumplanung is divided into three publication series: Blues Series, Transport, Projects.
Blaue Reihe (Blue Series) is the main series in which monographs, anthologies, dissertations and excellent diploma theses in the field of spatial planning are published; Verkehr (Transport) is addressed to dissertations and research reports with the emphasis on transport issues; Projekte (Projects): within this series final reports of student projects and documentations of excursions of the school of Spatial Planning are published.

The Arbeitspapiere (Working Papers) and Berichte aus dem Institut für Raumplanung (Reports from the Institute of Spatial Planning) sum up results of research projects and discussions on research projects in progress.

In the Gelbe Reihe (Yellow Series), coordinated by the Centre for Student and Project Affairs (SPZ), materials and informations for students are published.
