Fields of work and research interests:

  • Political Science: emphasis on international relations and environmental policy
  • Governance Strategies: emphasis on risk management context and stakeholder participation
  • Environmental Systems: climate change processes, adaptation, resilience and vulnerability
  • Water Management: particularly on water-related extremes with emphasis on policy analysis, governance and security

Marie Curie Fellow, Marie Curie Initial Training Network, CHANGES, “Changing Hydro-meteorological Risks as Analyzed by a New Generation of European Scientist” (2011-2014)

Doctoral thesis topic:

“Understanding the intangible: Improving ‘good’ risk governance for water-related extremes through EU policy and local case study analysis”

Financed by the European Community, research topic includes the elements of risk governance, (risk assessment, management, and multi-stakeholder communication), for the following case study sites: Barcelonnette catchment, France; Fella catchment, Italy; Wieprzówka catchment, Poland; and Nehoiu catchment, Romania.
