Dr. Dominika Pazder Dr. Bartosz Kazmierczak Faculty of Architecture, Poznan University of Technology, Poland

The project entitled MAD CITY FOR PEOPLE – MEANING, ACTION, DESIGN concerns the questions of public space activation in the context of spatial and social attractiveness. The research is conducted within the city centre of Poznan. The planned outcome is an evaluation of a space in a field of existing cultural offer and a system of built and unbuilt urban tissue with a potential for cultural and creative functions allocation. The work result is a recommendation for a public space to be activated through art and culture solutions of various scale, meaning, impact and duration in time and space. The research is divided in three stages: examination of existing spatial equipment, the enumeration of existing art and culture functions and conclusions – recommendations for a creative activation.
