All applications must be submitted in English! The admission committee only accepts applications as hardcopies via regular mail (not via E-Mail!).
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in a field related to Regional or Urban Planning with grades significantly above average
- A high standard of proficiency in written and spoken English: TOEFL (550 points paper based, 213 computer based, 80 internet based) or IELTS (6,0)
- Two years of professional practice is desirable and
- A strong commitment to further work in regional development planning
- The age limit is 36 years (age limit for DAAD scholarships)
- For German applicants: professional practice in developing countries is desirable
- For Chinese & Vietnamese applicants: TU Dortmund University only accepts applications, if the complete application package with school certificates also contains the original certificate by the Akademische Prüfstelle (APS) of the German Embassy in Bejing for Chinese and Hanoi for Vietnamese applicants.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- The completed and signed SPRING application form in original
- A completed and signed DAAD application form (if DAAD scholarship is desired)
- A typed Curriculum Vitae including personal data, academic progress and related work experience (Please use the Europass-Format)
- Officially notarized copy of university certificate
- University issued official transcript of courses and grades (or notarized copies) including an explanation of grades
- Two relevant letters of recommendation (professional and academic)
- Official proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, MELAB)
- Copy of A-level or high school certificate
TRANSLATION & NOTARIES
All translations and notarizations of documents must be made by a certified translator or notary. For translations, a notarized copy of the original document must be attached to the official translation.
SPECIAL INFORMATION FOR GERMAN & EUROPEAN APPLICANTS
The SPRING Master Programme always welcomes applications from Germany and European candidates.
- The SPRING Master programme is non-consecutive, that means it is open to applicants with a Bachelor or an equivalent degree of all fields of study.
- It would be desirable to provide evidence of planning related experience gained through the study or working experience.
- Furthermore the applicant needs to substantiate experience abroad, for instance through internships in development cooperation (3-6 months).
