Equal Opportunity Commissioner

At the TU Dortmund exist a central Equal Opportunity Commissioner (since 2010, Martina Stackelbeck) and decentralized Equal Opportunity Commissioners at all faculties. Equal Opportunity Commissioner of the Faculty of Spatial Planning

The Equal Opportunity Commissioners of the faculties are the contact persons for questions concerning equal opportunities in the faculties. They represent the Equal Opportunity Commissoner of the TU Dortmund in their faculty, as far as legally possible. They are advisory members of all committees of their faculty and are informed by the faculty about all issues concerning equal treatment of women and men. The Equal Opportunity Commissioners have a speaking right and the right to make motions. They are in direct contact to the Equal Opportunity Commissioner of the TU Dortmund.
The Equal Opportunity Commissioners are elected by the women´s of the faculty. Dr. Sandra Huning holds the function since 2010.

 

Committee on Equal Opportunities

The Faculty of Spatial Planning has arranged a Committee on Equal Opportunities for women and men to support the equal treatment of genders in all status groups and to realise the equal participation of women in all fields - science, research, self-administration and studying - on all levels.

THe Faculty of Spatial Planning has established a Committee for Equal Opportunities. Every status group votes for a member of the committee ( Die Statusgruppen wählen die Mitglieder der Gleichstellungskommission (respectively a female and male representative). The Committee on Equal Opportunities chooses from their members a chairperson. The chairperson has to be informed at an early stage about topics concerning equal treatment by the departments. A member of the Committee on Equal Opportunities can participate in conferences of other committees of the Faculty of Spatial Planning and can make use of the rights to submit motions and speak. The member has to be invited and informed like any other member of the visited committee. Concerning the fulfilment of their tasks the Committee on Equal Opportunities gets material expenses by the Faculty of Spatial Planning.

The Committee on Equal Opportunities comments the Dean´s report on improvement concerning equal treatment. On the basis of the report the Committee on Equal Opportunities designs every three years a so called 'Frauenförderplan' (until 2010) and since 2011 a concept on equalisation ('Gleichstellungskonzept'), which has to be passed by the Faculty Board and has to be submitted to the rectorship.
