The Epainos Award/Young Regional Scientist (EAYRS) Session provides a special platform for paper presentations by young scientists, and an in-depth discussion of these papers by senior scholars in the field.
The session is organized according to the following two principles:
The sessions are primarily targeted to Masters and Ph.D. students, and young scholars of comparable age. An age-limit of 33 years applies (in case of multi-authored papers, each author should be less than 33 years of age).
Every participant of the Young Scientist Sessions competes for the EPAINOS Prize, which is awarded to the best paper presented in the EAYRS Session.
Paper and presentation will be judged by a Prize Committee.
The winner will be announced during the congress dinner; the award is combined with a financial support of 600
. A second prize will also be awarded, comprising 300
.
The prize-winning paper will be considered for publication in "Papers in Regional Science". However, as the paper will be subject to standard review procedures, publication is not guaranteed.
Those interested in the Young Scientist Session and the EPAINOS-Award, please register while submitting an abstract until January 15th, 2002. Please remember to mark the relating box in the electronic form.
The entire paper should be submitted before May 31st, 2002, using the standard procedures of registration for the conference.
If you have any further questions about the EPAINOS-Award and the Young Scientist Session, please contact Erik Verhoef.
