We are pleased to present you the preliminary programme for the 5th Dortmund Conference on Spatial and Planning Research.


On the 17th and 18th of February 2020 the 5th Dortmund Conference will take place at the School of Spatial Planning. The Dortmund Conference on Spatial and Planning Research 2020 aims to contribute to answering the quaestions to what extent these issues have changed the courses of action and dirigibility of actors in the field of spatial planning and how this affects the processes of "creating" spaces as a whole.

More than 140 lectures, in 36 sessions, national and international speakers will take place in eight tracks. In this context, the results of the cooperative research project "ZUKUR - Zukunft der Stadtregion Ruhr" (ZUKUR - Future of the metropolitan area Ruhr) will be presented for discussion in four sessions and one roundtable. In addition, there will be five roundtables more in which the interdisciplinary topics of the conference will be discussed.

A special highlight will be the keynotes, which reflect the diversity of planning-related topics. On Monday, 17.02.2020, Prof. Dr.  Tuna Tasan-Kok (University of Amsterdam) present the conference with her keynote address "Rethinking the Role of Urban Planning in New State-Market-Citizen Relations". Finally, Prof. Dr. Martina Löw (Technical University of Berlin) held a keynote on "Räume neu erfahren", on Tuesday, 18.02.2020.

In addition, there will be a student poster session this year again where bachelor and master students present their research projects. This will take place on Tuesday, 18.02.2020, after the lunch break.
